Following through with your goals from 2014.
We live in a culture today where pretty much everything is disposable. Words, images,
and physical things seem to be easily replaced with the next best thing. This proves
to be a good idea when we are creating new technologies for medicine or engineering but often
I find a lack of follow through when it comes to our own commitments to causes, interests,
or things that might benefit other humans and our world around us. I don't think it
is intentional. We live in a society where we are bombarded with new conflicting information
on topics that might be of interest. Making us sometimes give up or feel it might not be worth
the effort to find the truth.
Sustainability issues are a good example of this. There is so much hearsay, conjecture,
and misinformation when it comes to the environment and what we need to do to
sustain ourselves in the future. I relate this to those new years resolutions of weight loss we all make and can't meet because we are bombarded with misinformation on dieting and quickly "give up".
Nothing will be solved in the coming year if we all don't take little steps and follow through with
what we wanted to do in 2014 and never got the answers to.
So embrace 2015 but remember to honor your commitments and causes of 2014.
If you vowed to live in a healthier home, work toward the goal.
If you vowed to drink less bottled water, work toward the goal.
If you vowed to buy an electric car, work toward the goal.
If you vowed to work with responsible vendors, work toward the goal.
Etc....
Happy New Year!
Be Well,
Kim
