Memorial Day Entertaining Tips.

This...

 Not That...

It's the start of the SUMMER! Here are a few tips to follow to ensure you are thinking of your best self and the environment over the weekend. Have fun...

Entertaining

  • Tablescape - Use a colorful sheet instead of buying a new table cloth. If you have kids let them use markers to make American flags or their personal stamp.

  • Mason jars are a fun alternative for desserts like ice cream or parfaits. You can gift them to your guests with left overs or keep for the next party! Picture Above: Raspberries and Blueberries, Greek Yogurt, Toasted Walnuts, Mini Chocolate Chips, and Chia Seeds.

  • Keep the plastic and paper utensils to a minimum.

  • Flowers - Don't purchase. Use branches or beautiful blooms from the garden or use a potted plant in a colorful planter.

Reduce carbon pollution and chemical use

  • Gas vs. Charcoal - Use gas! Charcoal creates more pollution.
  • Choose grass fed beef and of course antibiotic free...vs. conventional. Reduces: Carbon Emissions, Energy and Water use, and overall less burden on our bodies.
  • Use chemical free sunscreen and bug spray. Garlic repels mosquito's. Eat away and keep near or soak in a spray bottle with water and a few drops of eucalyptus oil.

Beauty

Eat tons of veggies from your local market over the weekend.
  • Asparagus is one of the most cleansing foods we can eat. Grill with olive oil, sea salt, pepper, and garlic. Roast walnuts for 5 minutes and a crumbly cheese like Parmesan or Gorgonzola. Also, stuff Tomatoes with cooked Quinoa and pop on the grill. Remember everything is better with olive oil and your skin will thank you too!

Coconut oil is a great moisturizer for the legs this time of year. I also use it to clean out the mouth by using one teaspoon in the morning and pull it through the teeth. Do not swallow, and discard in trash can. Will clog pipes! Teeth are glossy, white, bacteria free!

Tea tree oil to sooth and clean the feet. Has amazing antiseptic qualities.

Have a memorable and safe weekend!

Be Well,
Kim
