Alternative to Vegan Leather + Leather = Paper .

 

Here is an innovative and sustainable concept that has taken off in the past few years. Accessories and home goods made from paper. Paper which is washable and comes in a variety of finishes and colors. 

Paper is a great alternative to vegan (plastic) leather or cattle. Although, you are depleting the resource of wood this is a durable material and renewable.  It can be washed and will last for years. Options are important for sustainability. Balance within the ecosystem can be achieved by careful consumption of each material whether it be leather or paper. The burden of the cattle industry on global warming is great along with the harm it does to water and the waste stream.

Vegan Plastic is a problem. Even if it is "recycled plastic", we should be making efforts to find new formulations and fibers that steer away from plastic production. Plastics cause endocrine disruption, a majority are not recycled, end it up water bodies, and there is just too much production of plastics.

Finally, trying something new sparks our interest and curiosity. Try a new type of product this holiday season! It sparks a conversation. Hopefully, leading to more participation in the cause.
