Bullying and Peace.

Bullying is pervasive in our culture today. From complete strangers intimidating people in public, social media, or even generational bullying in families.

What is the root cause? Probably fear. We live in a culture where people make face value assumptions about peoples status, work, looks, on and on based on a very small sliver of information.

When you get to a stage in life where you have a perspective of many decades you realize you know very little and ultimately become less judgmental. It takes time but it seems to be quite bad with the younger generations of 20's and 30's who really have no value system other than themselves because of the media culture their generation has been designed around.

Our current culture has been based on short tidbits of information through media. It has caused humans who do not have the skills to cope, act out and make assumptions about others which ultimately divides us all.

We are all human. If you are not directly living with another, even if related, you really are not getting a full picture of a persons life.

If we all extend kindness and compassion and less judgement on a superficial level our society will be better off and more at peace. The person next to you on the train may have stage 4 cancer, the person on social media may be working four jobs with no one knowing, another person may have a parent suffering from a life threatening disease, or the human walking down the street may not have enough to eat! Realize there is a lot more context than a small sliver of assumption about another!

We as humans will be all better off to tackle things that are important like climate, global health crisis's, and the economy.

Less selfishness....
